You know, it's funny how when I get home from shooting photos, and I start looking through them, how what you learned from spending time with someone matches up with what you see in the photos.
I have a tendency of, after taking photos of a wedding or an event, letting them sit untouched for a few days so that I can come back to the pictures with a fresh outlook (I realize I used to do this when writing papers in college- write it, leave it alone for a few days, then come back to it and re-read it once I've forgotten some of the details). When I started editing Alyssa & Paul's photos, I realized that she is cracking up in just about every one of them... and I realized just how petite she really is!
We stopped to take a photo and Alyssa recommended we start by doing a "Saved By the Bell"-esque, Kelly and Zack, Super BFF photo, just to loosen things up:

I'd say that's about as close as you can get, short of having Mark- Paul Gosselaar and Tiffany Amber Thiesen there!
As we walked along, I saw this super cute giant dog metal statue thing, that I guess had not sold as quickly as the shop owners had hoped:

I found this crazy crooked tree and stopped, attempting to get a very romantic photo, but got more laughs instead, which was just fine with me!

Then, walking out towards the ocean, we found this beautiful, rickety old fence

which led us to one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen in Florida, and my favorite shot of the day:

PS: somewhere in this fabulous sand, my Bluetooth fell out of my ear and is now probably being eaten by a crab or a lobster or something. If anyone finds a sad, lonely, blinking its last blink Bluetooth somewhere on the beach, please contact me!

Okay, I'm editing photos of Sara and Chris's wedding, and I find myself cracking up as I look over a lot of these; this is easily the most down to earth and funny couple I've ever photographed. I remember walking into the room where Sara was getting ready and feeling like we had known each other forever- she was so calm on the day when a lot of people are super nervous and full of jitters.
Anyhow, the wedding was at a golf course and Chris is a golfaholic. Sara had obviously put a lot of thought into the details at the wedding and I absolutely loved the cake:

If you look closely, you'll notice the lyrics to 'You Are My Sunshine' written on the layers of the cake!

SO SWEET- figuratively and literally! Next, have a look at the most beautiful boutonniere ever! I don't think I've ever seen such a bright orchid!

After the wedding ceremony, we ran off to take some photos of the couple. We went off (the three of us on a golf cart) to some remote part of the golf course, and I told Sara and Chris to act passionate and dramatic... this is what I got!

Hilarious! I'm telling you- I'm a wedding photographer- I've done this many times, but these guys kept cracking me up!
I don't know what the name of this painting is:

but I imagine if you could scroll the photo down to their feet, it would look very similar to Sara and Chris's feet, which I HAD to take a photo of:

And one of our lovely couple, doing what they do best- making each other laugh!

Thank you guys for being so fun to work with- this was definitely the most I've ever laughed at a wedding!

My friend April called me up one day, telling me that her dad's birthday was coming up and that she wanted to have photos of their family taken to give him as a gift. I thought that was a super cute idea, so I met the whole clan out on the beach for an impromptu photo session:

and found them sitting by the water, looking like one of the photos that comes inside a photo frame! Is this not just too stinking cute?!
Here are a few of April and her husband Derrick:

She has one of those infectious smiles. It's like a yawn- you see hers and you just find yourself doing it too. It's like peer pressure of the teeth.

April doesn't like this photo.... but I love it. Her smile makes me jealous. She's like a Colgate commercial and I want her teeth.

In putting up photos of Jess and Cole's wedding, I realized I had not posted any pics from their engagement session, taken about 8 months before the wedding.
These pictures were taken in Seaside, Florida- the place where the couple planned on honeymooning.
I love this photo because it shows Jessica's awesome smile... she says she doesn't love it because it looks like she's trying to bite off his eyebrow. You be the judge:

As I'm editing the photos from Jessica and Cole's wedding, I am finding myself checking out all the little details over and over again- Jessica did an amazing job of really mastering the little things all over the reception- see for yourself:
Something old, something new, something borrowed and something:
Everyone had a little bit of blue in them!

The tables that were around the dance floor had these super beautiful glass candle holders with hot pink rose petals in them:

You know, I truly feel like we don't eat enough cake in our lifetimes. I really think I could eat cake every weekend and I still would never run out of recipes and never get sick of them. To top it all off, this one was so darn beautiful that you felt like you were opening a gift and eating cake too!

This was a beautiful idea: Jessica had pomanders made and hung on some of the chairs at the site of the ceremony. The hot pink ribbon was perfect with the bright pom pom flowers:

I had a blast at the wedding! I love you guys!!!
