You know how some people just have a fantastic story about how they met? Bickley and Andrea are one of those couples.
I met Andrea a few months ago, when we sat down to discuss her wedding photography. We hit it off from the start and I got to meet Bickley, her other half, for the first time this weekend whilst shooting their engagement photos. We started at the high school where they met and Andrea told me their unbelievable story. I'll give you the Cliff Notes version:
Andrea sees cute boy, asks someone what Boy's name is. Someone says "his name is Bic". Andrea says, "Like the pen or the razors?", and is unsure of how to proceed without knowing the correct spelling of Boy's name. Andrea passes Cute Boy a note addressed to [something to the effect of] Cute Boy Whose Name I Don't Fully Know, asking if he wants to hang out. Bickley responds by asking her out, Andrea accepts his offer. Many, many moons later, I am taking their engagement photos.
How cool is that?! So we shot a few photos in the hallway outside the class where they met:
Then Andrea tells me how Bickley used to play baseball and how she came to every one of his games to cheer him on.
And so we took photos of the lovebirds on the field where she spent so much time investing in their future life together. They had an idea for a photo, which I was more than happy to shoot:
As you may have guessed, they are getting married on November 18th of this year.
We then moved on to the beach to harass the surfers and take photos in the gorgeous South Florida sun:

I believe the story is that we were in Fiji for this last one... We went there just for the afternoon, just to, you know, take a photo or two, because we're cool like that.
Thank you to Bickley and Andrea for spending the day with me and for standing up to those treacherous Fiji waves for your photos!
Dreaming of One Day Actually Visiting Fiji,
Noelle

I'm not sure if there's somewhere where you can look up photos for Hot Miami Couples, but if there is, I've got an addition: Gardenio & Daylenis- Ridiculously Good-Looking couple of the week.
Behold:
Hello perfect hair, teeth, skin. So this is what you look like. It's nice to finally meet you all.
You see, when Daylenis stands around, the breezes obey her wishes to softly blow her hair around.
They looooovvvvveeeee each other. Big time. Sitting in a tree-kind of love.
Check out the sweet parasol Daylenis brought with her to our session!
Could they be any cuter? No, no they couldn't.

The previous photo was Gardenio's idea. I think he hit a home-run.
It's so awesome when I get to photograph couples who really enjoy each other and who compliment each other. Did I mention these two super-nice people brought me a giant, 1 liter water bottle to the shoot? How nice is that?!
The crazy kids decided they wanted to wade in the water. The frigid Miami waters. This meant I had to get near said frigidity as well; we all survived.
I imagine that they were much, much colder than I was. Don't feel too bad for them though- their innate hotness kept them internally warm.
Thanks to Daylenis & Gardenio for being so considerate and fun to shoot!
In Need of Working on Innate Hotness,
Noelle

Talk about a good time: a few days ago, I met up with Jason and Jessica to take some photos to be used as save the date cards. Amidst Spring Break, 2011, we managed to successfully maneuver through the treacherous groves of teenagers and left with some beautiful shots:
Lucky for me, Jason was more than happy to keep a tight grip on his lady, which made my job much easier!
Isn't she beautiful? I'm not sure I could have taken a bad photo if I'd tried!
Jason hearts Jessica!!!
All the walking around made everyone thirsty. We stopped for a fill up. Shout out to our awesome waiter!
Upon leaving the eatery, we had to dodge some, er, interesting characters and found ourselves in the darkness, but we learned a valuable lesson: When life gives you derelicts and darkness...
there's always the option of taking romance-novel-looking photos!
Romancing the Night,
Noelle

This weekend, I met up with Josh and Jenalee for an engagement photo session in Boynton Beach, Florida. The two were waiting for me when I arrived, with their beautiful black labs, who also are the reason for the two meeting: Josh and Jenalee met at a dog park while visiting with their respective dogs! It makes me want to sing: "and they knew they must somehow form a family, that's the way they all became the JJ Bunch!"
Meet Mattie & Grace, the matchmaking duo.
See? One big, happy, half hairy family!
After the pups left us kids alone to play, we were able to get closer to the trees and the squirrels with much less excitement.
This place had some serious walls of sea grapes:
And some seriously 'Secret Garden-esque' areas:

They looooooooovvvvveeee each other!
Then the sun started to set and things started to get very dark, very fast!

Kristy Geisel:
I love these photos. I really liked how you had the dog. You look so in love! So happy for you ;)

How is it that I've never heard of the South Florida Fair before? Has anyone out there been to this thing? It's amazing!
I finally came to learn of this fair and to enjoy its awesomeness via Jennifer, who wanted a less-than-traditional setting for her engagement photos. I suggested a carnival, since she had mentioned that her and her fiance, Jason, love carnivals and fairs and -BOOM- magic was made!!
Funny story: As I'm taking the above photo, this super cool clown ran up to our beautiful couple and demanded that I take a photo with him in it for good luck:
He said he and his wife (who was with him and was not dressed as a clown) have been happily married for 34 years and that the secret is to keep each other laughing.
I think they are doing a pretty great job of laughing and loving each other!
And speaking of Ferris Wheels, I had forgotten how treacherous they can be. Hello, Pepto Bismol. I need you.
Speaking of antacids, how about the Cotton Candy Monster that runs loose at state fairs?
Jennifer went for a candied apple instead, which I was more than happy about because it led to cute photo ops and epic battles for bites of sugar-encrusted fruits.
You want to see a paradox?
A ski lift in South Florida. My world will never be the same!
I Love Pepto,
Noelle
