This was by far the quickest turnaround on engagement photos: we took these on a Wednesday and the wedding was on Saturday.  Ernie and Jessie wanted some photos with a red-theme to them so that they could use them as enlargements to place around the reception.  We walked around Coconut Grove searching for spots that would match the specs, and after a short walk, we found the red wall that was perfect for them:

engagement-photos-coconut-grove-florida-noelle-goveia-photography-photographer-miami.jpgI love these guys.  This was the first time I had met Ernie, and he was really fun to be around.  They are the kind of couple that you know will make an amazing family.

I'll be putting up the photos of their wedding very soon.

Hello!

Has anyone out there visited The Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach?  It was built in Segovia, Spain from 1133-1144 and was taken down stone by stone in the mid 1830s during a time of revolution.  The stones were moved from Spain to the United States, then moved around a few times before finally making it to the current location in 1964.  How's that for cool?

Want to see what 900 year old stones look like?  Want to see what Michael and Eliza look like?

This place reminds me of a Disney Movie.  You just don't see stuff like this in day to day life:

First things first- if you are somehow capable of saying those four words without at least cracking a smile, you might be an X-Man.

I am not an X-Man and so all I could think of while we were photographing Greg and Erica's engagement photos on the intercoastal waterways of Ft. Lauderdale was wearing nautical-themed pashmina afghans and flippie floppies.

When Erica said she wanted to go out on a boat for her photos, I did not anticipate the larger-than-most-apartments sized yacht we took to the waters.

noelle-goveia-photography-greg-erica-engagement-photos-wedding-photographer-photography-florida-fort-ft.-lauderdale-fl-2.jpgNor did I anticipate that we'd be the fancy-pants-wearing kind of people who get driven around by a super cool captain (shout out to John for excellent keeping-the-boat-pointed-in-one-direction skills!).

They could only be cuter if they had brought along inflatable dolphins as props.

You guys will be happy to know that I came home and learned how to tie a tie so I could feel good about myself.

Top of the Morning!

I wanted to share a few photos from the engagement session of a beautiful couple, Chris and Shannon a few weeks ago.

noelle-goveia-photography-beach-photos-miami-fort-lauderdale-ft-ft.-lauderdale-engagement-photos.jpgDid you notice the color of Shannon's eyes?  They were the first thing I noticed about her and are the color you can bet I'd ask for if the choosing of one's iris palette was possible.

noelle-goveia-photography-beach-photos-miami-fort-lauderdale-ft-ft.-lauderdale-engagement-photos-4.jpgAren't they adorable?  I just want to squeeze them, they're so cute!

noelle-goveia-photography-beach-photos-miami-fort-lauderdale-ft-ft.-lauderdale-engagement-photos-3.jpgIt's not a party until there's a voyeur photographing you under a bridge.

noelle-goveia-photography-beach-photos-miami-fort-lauderdale-ft-ft.-lauderdale-engagement-photos-2.jpgI love couples who love each other.  It makes my day and makes photographing a pleasure.

A big shout out to Chris and Shannon for sticking it out with me until we were all about to pass out!

Okay, so I never thought that what began as a very docile photo session would turn into a death trap!

I met up with Jack and Lena to photograph them for their engagement session, and all was nice and calm where we began:

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings.jpgA beautiful park, very calm, lots of baby frogs, and huge, lovely old trees:

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings-2.jpgAfter we left the beautiful park, we ventured to a spot Lena had found, which had some awesome graphic elements painted on the walls:

noelle-goveia-photography-Jack and Lena.jpgand

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings-4.jpgWhich was all super great, until I almost got run over by a train!!!  Not cool!  Not cool at all!

After I regained my composure and convinced my knees to stop shaking, we proceeded to the beach for some Zack-and-Kelly-hanging-out-with-my-BFF-style photos (kudos to Lena for being the first person ever to understand this reference without the need for further clarification):

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings-5.jpgI'm not sure what Jack whispered in her ear right then, but I'm afraid it probably wasn't something PG... Just a feeling...

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings-6.jpgBut that's okay, because she loves him a whole lot!

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings-7.jpgTIGER!!!  RAAARRRR!!!

noelle-goveia-photography-engagement-photos-west-palm-beach-photographer-jack-lena-fort-lauderdale-wedding-weddings-8.jpgThis photo required more near-death gymnastics-type moves, involving elaborate dismounts and such, but it was totally worth it if for nothing less than being able to say that this was my most hair-raising photo shoot to date!

A big thanks to Jack for putting up with temperatures comparable to those in Death Valley, and to Lena for laughing with me over TV shows from the 90s.

The Farmer's Tan is Out of Control,
