You know how getting you hair cut or styled with someone new is analogous to going on a blind date?  You have no idea what to expect, what the other person will be like, if you'll enjoy the hour or two that you're going to spend with them, or if you're going to walk away feeling like you've been mauled.

We all hope for positive experiences, and that's exactly what Amy Ratisher of Salon Edge of Boca served up in a recent shoot I did for promotional photos for her salon.

Amy styled the models and then did different takes on each hairdo.  As I was setting up, I watched two beautiful ladies transform from gorgeous to surreal as the hair and makeup team made them even more stunning than they were upon walking in.

She reminds me of the combo that would emerge if you mixed one part British Royalty with one part rock star and stirred.

Above, Amy took the same hairstyle and in a span of approximately 30 seconds, completely changed it so that she became this ethereal doll.

And again, quickly adjusted to an elegant up-do for a classic style.

Always In A Hair Crisis,

I recently did some headshots for the ever-talented Mr. Scott Wilson, whom I met when photographing the cast of Channeling Kevin Spacey (which used to be called Killing Kevin Spacey, but Mr. Spacey didn't like that so much and requested the name change). 

Scott played the lead character, Charlie Rotlewitz, who realizes that his life needs a bit more animation and decides to channel famous roles in hopes of a change.

The play was hysterical and was well-received by the audience at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.  It will be playing off-Broadway starting in April; more information can be found here.

Did you know that the word boudoir means a lady's bedroom?  It's true.

I think Valentine's Day is absolutely FABULOUS because I always get a few phone calls from girls wanting to get some boudoir photographs taken for the special man in their lives.  I think boudoir photography is awesome as it seems every girl gets to feel like a movie star for the duration of the shoot, since a make-up artist and hair-stylist is there simply for her, primping and touching up in true Hollywood style.

Now, I realize that Valentine's Day was a good month ago and you're probably thinking "Why are you only posting pics now?" 

Because I've been traversing the land, Man!  I've gone to New York City and Las Vegas and my powers of omnipresence are not yet what I hope they will one day be.

Don't judge me!!!

I love Christmas for many reasons.  One of them being the presents, because I love opening presents more than anything else in this whole world.  Another reason is because girls are inevitably seeking me to take sexy photos for that special man in each of our lives. 

That being said...


Come on, now.  Everyone knows and loves Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby song!  Don't act like you don't put on a Betty Boop-esque show when it comes on that one radio station that plays Christmas music for a solid month!

I have so many cool photos from Aspen, but I think I'll take a break from the snow photos for a bit... after this one ;)
