Nicole really put a whole lot of time into the details of her wedding.  She had cute signs everywhere and the guests signed a surfboard instead of a guest book.  And speaking of intricate details, check out the foot jewelry:

Speaking of learning, I took this sweet class (with 899 other people- yikes) about boudoir photography and I had to take a photo to share because it cracked me up:

The Vibram Fivefingers.

These are awesome because you can use them as beach/water shoes, you can run with them (though barefoot running is extremely different from the running we are all used to), you can use them as your gym/yoga/pilates shoes, you can basically use them to replace all your outdoor and sports footwear.

Surprisingly, the toe nubs don't make you feel like you have a toe-wedgie, the way toe-socks do.

Thank you [from my feet] to the people at Vibram for changing the world, one funny-looking shoe at a time.

Luckily for me, this awesome couple scheduled in time before the wedding ceremony to take lots of photos.  They researched cool locations for us to take pictures around and we spent a good hour and a half driving to some really cool old churches, railroads and movie theaters, giving them a whole lot of variety in their photos.

Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your wedding day. Getting great photos was easy since you were so organized and had everything planned out so well!  You guys were incredibly welcoming and made Emily and I feel like guests at your wedding.

I wish you the best of luck in whatever life throws your way :)

(Interesting side note: this is the studio owner's dog, Sushi.  I thus titled this photo "I Had Sushi for Lunch")

This is a photo I took of the skyline outside the balcony of the studio, right after sunset.  Lady Liberty is just outside the frame to the right of the pic.

So, with all this studio space to use, and all the access to lenses we could handle, we decided to play around and see what interesting photos we could come up with.  That being said, I have one question to ask you:

What do you get when you put four techno geeks together, with unlimited use of lighting, cameras, lenses and space?

One heck of a good time.

And there's our beautiful bride on a white couch in her white dress.  This was one of the most beautiful small weddings I've attended.  The house was spectacular and the presence of only the immediate family, a violinist and myself made the ceremony incredibly intimate and special.  The couple exchanged vows on a balcony overlooking the sea and, as I suspected, they were so excited about finally tying the knot that they both had smiles on their faces that could rival The Joker's. 

There's definitely something to be said for small and intimate weddings, and this one definitely lived up to those pros.  Thank you both for inviting me to be a part of your beautiful ceremony.  It will remain in my memory for a long time :)

These, esteemed members of the jury, are fiddlehead ferns that have been beautifully transformed into the most creative lapel-enhancing detail of the wedding.

Exhibit C: SIGNATURE COCKTAILS!  WHAT?  YES, I SAID IT, AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN: SIGNATURE COCKTAILS!!!

These are spiked pink lemonades, and in case you had forgotten where you were, the pink and green grossgrain ribbon stirrers should jog your memory.

I can read your thoughts.  I know what you are thinking.  Maybe the reason these details are so fabulous are because the location was terrible and they had to up the ante with the cutesy stirrers in order to fool the guests!

Wrong.  So wrong.

This was the building where the bride was hanging out and waiting until it was her time to walk down the (perfectly manicured grass) aisle. Behind the building is a sky that belongs in a painting.
